UKROC launches a new Welsh Regional

Breathing fire into STEM

Join us at the Snowdonia Space Centre

The UK Youth Rocketry Challenge (UKROC) is an exciting competition that promotes STEM, creativity, innovation and crucial life skills in a fun way. Teams design and build a model rocket which they can then launch at a UK regional event.

This year we are delighted to be hosting a regional event at the Snowdonia Aerospace Centre on Friday 21 March 2025 to encourage more participation from Wales.

Attending a regional event boosts confidence and self esteem and your team might go all the way to win at our National and International Finals.

FUNDING FOR SUCCESS

To prepare you for our Welsh regional event, our colleagues at Snowdonia Aerospace Centre have secured grant funding from UK Space Agency towards:

  • FREE ROCKETRY KITS: Equip your students with everything they need to design, build, and launch their own rocket – worth up to £400.
  • FREE TRAVEL TO THE EVENT: Up to £400 is available to be used to transport your team(s) to the Snowdonia Aerospace Centre.

GETTING STARTED

Our colleagues at Snowdonia Aerospace Centre offer mentoring and support and can even visit your school to help get you started.

We also have video resources on ‘what’s it all about‘ and ‘how to build a rocket‘ which are available on demand.

From crafting rockets to learning about the future of aerospace, UKROC is packed with opportunities to inspire and educate students of all ages.

Are you up for the challenge?
