
UKROC 2026 – Meet the Teams – Omega

In the lead up to the UKROC 2026 National Final, we’re spotlighting the teams behind the rockets! Meet Team Omega…
Intro
- Team name – Omega
- School/club – St Paul’s School
- Region/location – South East
How did you find out about UKROC?
- Alex – Through our school as other students have competed previously.
- Arthur – Older years participated in it last year and our rocketry teacher told us about it.
- Cillian – My fellow companions that did it last year.
- Leo – I found out about the competition from my school’s rocketry club.
- Louis – Older pupils at our school did it last year.
What have you enjoyed most about the UKROC project?
- Alex – Meeting rocketeers from other teams and working through problems in the design process.
- Arthur – Building and designing the rockets and using tools like 3D printer and the vinyl cutter, and working in a team to design innovative solutions to problems.
- Cillian – The foil tape incident.
- Leo – Making the parts to build the rocket, and the initial design process of the rocket.
- Louis – Designing the nose cone to protect the egg.
Would you encourage other teams to enter the competition?
- Alex – Absolutely, it’s an excellent chance to build problem solving and physics ability.
- Arthur – Yes, absolutely. It’s a great experience and is really rewarding when your rocket launches successfully, and although it takes lots of time it’s totally worth it.
- Cillian – Yes, absolutely, it is an incredibly fun journey.
- Leo – Yes. I think that it is very fun, and that it is a great way to learn more about rockets.
- Louis – Definitely- it’s been an amazing experience so far.
Why did your school/club want to get involved in UKROC?
- Alex – Our school wanted to get involved with UKROC because it helped set a project for our rocketry society.
- Arthur – We already did a lot of rocketry in the past and a competition seemed to be a good, fun next step.
- Cillian – Our school wanted to get involved because we have an active rocketry society. I blindly followed my fellow companions into doing this.
- Leo – My school wanted to get involved because it is a interesting competition that allows us to learn more about rockets, and test our design skills.
- Louis – We’ve done a lot of rocketry in school and competitions seemed like the next step.
What does the teacher/club leader think about UKROC?
- Arthur – He loves it.
- Leo – They think UKROC is an excellent competition, that lets students explore rocket science while also having fun.
- Louis – He loves it.
